Job Summary:
Under the guidance of the Retail Manager and within limits of The Kahala Hotel and Resort policies, ensure all operational procedures, codes of conduct and standards of appearance are adhered to by all staff. To be a member of a happy and motivated team and ensure the smooth operations of Signature by the Kahala Hotel & Resort stores (The Kahala Hotel & Resort and Waikiki), The Kahala Boutique and Kaffe Kahala at all times. Assist with daily sales of merchandise as well as inventory maintenance and replenishing.
Essential Functions:
- Meets and greets guests as they arrive, offers assistance and bids a warm farewell to all guests, thanks them, asks them to return.
- Provide guests the best possible service, and makes guests feel important. The interest of the guest is paramount.
- Shows a professional attitude at all times, particularly with regard to punctuality, appearance, general manner and responsibility.
- Held responsible for all sales transactions and all monies taken in return for retail products.
- Ensure the retail spaces are tidy, clean and stocked at all times.
- Maintain data information on inventory and daily sales.
- Maintain log book recording any unusual or attention requiring incidents.
- Operates a cash register, total guest's checks, makes change, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges as relating to pricing.
- Ability to interact and work well with other Departments within the Resort.
- Attends all training courses and meetings as deemed necessary, and must adhere to training as set by Retail Management.
- High standards of communication skills, including telephone etiquette, with all guests and colleagues.
- Recognizes the importance of 'sales' in every aspect of the position and is responsible for achieving sales targets as set by Retail Management
- Adaptable and accountable for all actions.
- Ascertain guest's satisfaction. In the event of dissatisfaction, refers the incident to the manager.
- Complies with accounting guideline regarding receipt of payments, checks total verification, cash drawer and house bank management.
- Balances house bank at the end of the shift. Retrieves and returns bank from vault to work station and return, to ensure accountability.
dditional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Report all suspicious persons or activities and hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Security Department.
- Provides instructions and/or guidance for guest in the event of fire, power outage or other emergency situations.
- Respond to guest questions. Provide guest assistance, direction and information as requested when working in public areas.
- Maintains an open line of communication between guests and management.
- Performs any general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by the supervisor.
- Must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance as outlined in the employee handbook.
- Must be able to work varying shifts and maintain attendance in accordance with the hotel's attendance policy.
- Ability to comply with hotel rules and regulations including policies.
- Performs a variety of other duties as assigned.
